Privacy Policy

Short version: Solve To Play collects no data about you or your kid. There is no account, no tracking, no analytics and no advertising. Everything the app needs is stored only on the device where it is installed.

We are the controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for the website and for any contact you make with us.

The app

What stays on the device

To work, the app stores the following on the device, in storage that only Solve To Play and its extensions can read:

• Your settings: tasks per round, unlock time, unlocks per day, number range
• Daily progress: rounds solved, correct and wrong answers, unlocks used today
• Tasks your kid missed, so they can come back in later rounds (at most 20)
• The parent PIN, stored only as a salted hash, never in plain text
• The time until which apps are unlocked

None of this leaves the device. We have no server that could receive it, and the app makes no network connections of its own.

Screen Time and the apps you block

The app uses Apple’s Screen Time frameworks (Family Controls, Managed Settings, Device Activity). When you choose apps, categories or websites to lock, iOS gives Solve To Play only opaque tokens. The app cannot see which apps these are, and it cannot see how your kid uses the device. Screen Time data is processed by iOS under Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Notifications

The app shows local notifications that are created on the device. No push service is used.

Purchases

Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your name, email address or payment details. Apple gives us only anonymous sales reports. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Crash reports and App Store statistics

If you have chosen in iOS settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may pass anonymous crash reports and usage statistics to us. You control this in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements. We use this only to fix errors.

Deleting data

Deleting the app removes all its data from the device. With Screen Time protection active, deleting the app needs the parent’s approval.

Children

Solve To Play is meant to be set up by parents on their kid’s device. The app collects no personal data from children or anyone else, so no data about children is shared with us or third parties. The app contains no advertising. On child accounts, purchases need the parent’s approval through Apple’s Ask to Buy.

The website

Hosting

This website is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS): the files are stored in Frankfurt, Germany, and delivered through the CloudFront content delivery network. To deliver a page, AWS necessarily processes your IP address and technical request data (browser, requested page, time). We do not store access logs. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in a secure and working website. AWS acts as our processor under a data processing agreement that includes the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. No cookies, no tracking

The website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking tools, and loads no fonts or scripts from third parties.

Contacting us by email

If you email us, we use your email address and message only to answer you. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request relates to a purchase or contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We delete the correspondence when it is no longer needed, unless statutory retention periods apply.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object (Art. 21). Email us to use them.

Residents of the United States

We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not collect personal information from children under 13 (COPPA).

We update this policy when the app or website changes. The date below shows the current version.
